Campus Involvement
All University Sing and Pigskin Revue: Each year our chapter participates in SING here at Baylor University. Our sing chairs work hard every year to put on a unique, fun, entertaining, and amazing act! We have had award- winning shows many times in the past, and it is always something our chapter and the Baylor campus looks forward to. The top eight acts from SING get the honor to perform in Pigskin! Some of our past themes have been: Hey Big Spender, Little Red Riding Hood, Masquerade, Running Wild, and Weird Science. One of out more recent acts Masquerade, which we did along with Kappa Sig, won us first place! SING and Pigskin continue to be one of our chapter's favorite and most anticipated events. This past year we again paired with Kappa Sigma for our act "Come Dance With Me," and we were asked to perform in Pigskin!
Homecoming Float: Baylor University is nationally known as having one of the top Homecoming parades! Each year our chapter comes together with another fraternity to build a creative, eye-catching, and usually award winning Float.
Kappa Karnival: Kappa Karnival is our All-University event. Each fraternity sets up a booth of games. There are local food trucks that catered, clowns, a raffle, and shirts. We really enjoy getting to spend time with our friends, teachers, and their children in such a unique atmosphere.
Baylor Beauty: Every year we host our annual Baylor Beauty Style Show. This event benefits Mission Waco, which is a charity in town that strives to provide Christian-Based, holistic, relationship-based programs that empower the poor and marginalized in town. This past year we were able to donate almost $700 to mission Waco. The Baylor Beauty event is one of the oldest traditions on campus. The members of each class are allowed to vote on eight nominees from their class. The eight with the highest number of votes are invited to participate in the style show.
Faculty Easter Egg Hunt: Every year we invite the faculty of Baylor to bring their families and enjoy a fun evening together with out organization. We set up an Easter egg hunt for the kids and provide some snacks and refreshments for the families. Our purpose in hosting this event is not only to show our appreciation for the faculty, but also to provide an opportunity for us to connect with the faculty outside of the classroom.
Kendra Scott Gives Back: This semester, for the fourth time, we hosted Kendra Scott Gives Back to help raise money for our philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. Kendra Scott is an Austin based jewelry designer that finds it extremely important to give back to the community. Kappa hosted a Kendra Scott trunk show in our room featuring an array of brightly colored earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets form the Kendra Scott Dallas location. The whole campus was invited, and 20% of the proceeds were donated to RIF.
